ALTIUS Communications Awarded $1.5 Million IDIQ Contract for Tactical Radios to Naval Surface Warfare Center
Phoenix, MD, November 7th, 2012 - ALTIUS Communications, an international information technology company, has received a $1.5 million Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract to deliver service upgrades and FIPS-140-2 Encryption to field tactical radio systems for the U.S. Department of the Navy.
The five-year contract, awarded by the Naval Surface Warfare Systems Center Crane Division, enables the Navy to acquire conversion kits, FIPS-140-2 encryption and bandwidth upgrades to existing microwave radios systems. The contract covers radios manufactured by Cambium Networks, (formally Motorola)

The contract is part of the US Marine Core G-BOSS program. The G-BOSS program is an integration of Commercial-Off-the-Shelf (COTS) and Government-Off-the-Shelf (GOTS) sensors, integrated to provide a "beyond the fence" surveillance capability for military operations.
