Suncoast Broadband announced as new media sponsor for the Grand Prix Boat races in Sarasota

Suncoast Broadband, a division of ALTIUS Communications, has been added as a new media sponsor for the 30th Annual Super Boat Grand Prix festival supporting Suncoast Charities for Children. Suncoast Charities is a 501(c)(3) and proceeds raised from the Super Boat Grand Prix Festival have constructed local facilities (valued at over $14 Million) serving children, teens and adults with special needs in the Sarasota, Venice, and North Port areas. Proceeds from the Festival continue to help maintain some of these aging facilities and support special projects so that area non-profits occupying these facilities can direct their program and service money towards the clients they serve where it is needed the most.

Jim Connor, CEO of Suncoast Broadband noted “We had the privilege of supporting last year’s event through a local partner but not as an official sponsor, and it was truly one of our favorite charitable events of the year. We are thrilled to take on a greater role this year and look forward to returning to the grand prix for many years to come in effort to raise financial support and awareness for Suncoast Charities for Children. We could not be more excited to spend the time outside with some of our favorite clients, vendors and friends,” he added.

"We are excited to have Suncoast Broadband aboard," said Lucy Nicandri, vice president of Suncoast Charities for Children. They will be providing live video streaming over their high spread wireless network during the races. Sponsors like Suncoast Broadband allow us to keep overhead costs low, which in turn raises more money for the charity.

On Sunday, July 6th, 2014 attendees will have the chance to watch the super boats race at speeds hitting 140 mph on a 13 mile course located in front of Lido Key. The week prior to the race will be filled with many other events. Interested participants can register for the various events by visiting the website, http://www.suncoastoffshore.org.
